Four Rings and the Blogosphere

Hail, hail, Blogosphere.
Glory days for Audi. The bavarian Lord of the Four Rings intended to start their new A5 coupé with a big bang - at Geneva Motor Show beginning in March.

The bang was bigger than expected - and earlier - at least for the public. It did not only happen in Geneva but in the whole (online) world. After some excellent photos from the beautiful car popped up in the internet the blogosphere acted as it is expected to do: less then two hours for world-wide spreading PR for free is not too bad actually. That long did it take until the pictures reached also the well-established automotive magazines and by that as well those not reading other blogs. Still some are pointing at the german premium car maker with a laugh for apparently missing security...

But putting it in a nutshell just to point out the matter: highly effective PR for free reaching the attention of millions (maybe billions) of people for one of the most beautiful cars in the world. Could Geneva really have done the same job? So think twice: should we thank god for Audi not selling IT security or should we think about what it really means to act Vorsprung (as well in communication)?
